About Us and Our Home

Thank you for visiting our website, we hope you’ll be able to find information on our home, which will prove useful to you and your family.

This delightful care home is a medium size home and registered for 20 residents, is long established (1968), friendly, and comfortable with family proprietors in residence.

The Old Vicarage is a magnificent and spacious grade II listed building built circa 1678. It has a Georgian facade of natural Bath stone. St Mary Street is a cul du sac, situated in the middle of town, in the only conservation area left in Chippenham. To the rear of the house is Monkton Park and the River Avon, our garden which is half an acre runs down to the river. The view from the rear of the house, across the garden, river, and park is quite magnificent. The Old Vicarage is opposite St Andrews Church, which several of our residents attend, as well as other church denominations in the town.

The Old Vicarage enjoys a quiet location, yet is only a few minutes walk from the centre of this ancient thriving Wiltshire market town. It is on the London to Bath A4 road and is 3 miles south of junction 17 off the M4, 12 miles from Bath, 22 miles from Bristol and 18 miles from Swindon.

My wife and I have a flat on the second floor of the Old Vicarage and my daughter has a flat in what use to be the cellars of the house. As a family living and working at the Care Home we also employ a dedicated and well trained staff on call 24 hours a day.
